Data, it rests it moves and it contains a lot of private information that consumers do not want shared. Data security exists in every payment channel, including the ACH Network. Utilizing a vendor or Third-Party Service Provider (TPSP) to assist in receiving or sending ACH entries does not exempt you from your requirements to meet Data Security requirements, there is no passing that liability to a vendor. Are you managing the vendor relationship to ensure that all data security requirements are met? Once you have mastered the financial institution data security requirements, you then must pass that knowledge to your Third-Party Senders (TPS) and Originators, because they also have data. Are you ensuring that your originators and TPS are meeting the requirements on data security? All these issues would be addressed in an ACH audit, so attend the session to ensure you understand the requirements of the financial institution, originators, TPS and TPSP, and it will help ensure you have a positive audit experience.
