In June of 2022, the Federal Reserve, FDIC, and OCC issued final guidance on managing risks associated with third-party relationships, offering the agencies’ views on sound third-party risk management. As these relationships become complex, it is imperative that financial institutions manage the risks associated with their service providers and partners.

Your financial institution’s third parties should not be managed in a silo, but this is often the case in the real world. An effective third-party risk management program can help synchronize this siloed effect and inform managers of their roles related to this program. Departments throughout the institution likely maintain relationships with third parties and may own the formal third-party risk management process for these parties. Those who regularly interact with third-party products and services are in the best position to assess their performance and manage the relationship.

This session will help inform managers of their role in third-party risk management by defining the various payment-related third parties, exploring the third-party risk management cycle, examining performance management, detailing third-party party risk management, and exploring third-party relationship opportunities and rewards.
