Exception handling is a critical function within an RDFI. Exception handling errors can lead to financial loss and reputational issues for a financial institution. This session will help attendees understand the appropriate return reason codes to use and why that code is the best choice. We'll also discuss your obligations upon receiving prenotes and what steps to take when you receive a Death Notification Entry (DNE). Understanding the liabilities and responsibilities of properly handling returns, prenotes, and DNEs will also assist in potentially avoiding losses due to untimely returns or rules violations due to improper return codes
At the end of the session attendees will:
