ACH Origination is paramount in business services offerings which are needed to attract and retain business clients. Given this importance, Originator onboarding is a critical component of the ACH Origination function especially with respect to the responsibility of the Originator Depository Financial Institution (ODFI). Having effective onboarding practices helps the organization accomplish multiple things including the mitigation of potential risks, new client satisfaction, and operational efficiency. All these factors are critical in operating a successful ACH Origination program.
In this session, we explore how to enact and manage a successful ACH Originator onboarding program. Topics to be explored include developing appropriate policy and procedure, establishing proper onboarding workflows, formalizing underwriting and approval standards, and implementing effective practices to successfully onboard corporate Originators. Establishing this program will also support audit and compliance requirements such as those outlined in the ACH Rules under General Rules and ODFI Risk Management.
