This session will take a deeper dive into exception handling, focusing on how to properly use the extended return reason codes, including what codes require a completed Written Statement of Unauthorized Debit form and which do not. We'll also discuss your responsibilities and the rules surrounding permissible returns, as well as returns requested by the ODFI. Lastly, we'll look at Notification of Change entries and how these can be used to effectively to assist financial institutions in reducing incorrect entries.
