Commercial Reclamations differ from Government Reclamations from the rules that govern them and the liability to the Receiving Financial institution and ultimately the company looking to reclaim those funds. When receiving a commercial reclamation your first step should be to protect the financial institution from the potential loss of government reclamation because you are now made aware of a death. The steps for addressing the commercial reclamation differ than that of a government reclamation but you still must worry about potential government reclamations in the future. The presenter will detail the steps in handling commercial reclamations but more importantly how to use that knowledge to limit liability of government reclamations. The presenter will also review how an Originator can submit a commercial reclamation and outline what they could be receiving as a response, because No could be a valid response.

At the conclusion of this session, attendees will be able to:
• Differentiate from Commercial and Government Reclamations
• Interpret the Commercial Reclamation Rules in the Nacha Operating Rules
• Apply the rules to the process of originating and receiving commercial reclamations
