Often, financial institutions suffer losses due to the death of a customer whose post-death benefit payments do not get returned before being disbursed. Some of these losses occur due to front line staff not understanding what constructive knowledge is and how they should treat such notice.  This session is geared towards front line staff and reviews the importance of taking action when learning of a customer’s death. The session walks participants through how to identify communication challenges between retail and operations, as well as address front line staff knowledge of what action to take and the importance of their role in the process. 


Attendees will leave the session with an understanding of:

  1. Constructive knowledge;
  2. Definition of a Reclamation;
  3. Impacts of Reclamations on RDFIs.
