Today’s financial institutions offer complex products and services, many also have complicated relationships with Third-Party Service Providers and partners. Regulatory compliance is integral to an institution’s ability to succeed in today’s environment, and employees’ understanding of their role in their institution’s compliance landscape is critical.

What does it mean to have a culture of compliance, and why does it matter whether or not your financial institution has one? In this session, geared toward payment function managers, NEACH will answer both of these questions, as well as explore your role in your institution’s culture of compliance. Every financial institution employee contributes to its compliance culture, but the tone is set at the top with the Board of Directors, Senior Management, and Departmental Management. Institutions that lack a culture of compliance expose themselves to potential regulatory citations, fines, and reputational risk. In this session, we'll cover topics such as a brief overview of the elements of an effective compliance management system, essential aspects of a culture of compliance, tactics for instilling a culture of compliance, and define a leader's role in a culture of compliance.

Attendees will:
• Define a culture of compliance
• Discuss why a culture of compliance is so crucial to a financial institution
• Examine tactics for enacting a culture of compliance
• Explain the results you can expect from implementing a culture of compliance

Speaker:
• Mary Mumper-Morrison, AAP, APRP, CAMS, Director, Education, NEACH
