Cybercriminals are stealing more identity information from organizations and individuals to commit account takeover (ATO), instigating third- party fraud or creating fraudulent accounts — including a record number of synthetic accounts — to perpetrate first-party fraud.
This session explores what payments professionals need to know about synthetic identities: where they come from, how they hide, what they could be costing you, and detection strategies.

10:10 - 11:40 am Writing Effective SAR Narratives
Nancy Lake, ARC/AML-ology

Have you ever heard from law enforcement requesting your SAR documentation?
Do you ever reach out to law enforcement before filing the SAR?
Do you know the difference between a FinCEN 314a vs. a 314b request?
This session will provide guidance on effective SAR development that will help provide law enforcement with critical information in their fight against criminal activity. We will also discuss effective partnerships with law enforcement.
