Want to learn more about payments? Payments include a wide range of services such as ACH, Wires, Cards, Instant Payments, and Checks. Many of these you are likely familiar with from your own personal transactions. Each of these payment options has unique characteristics, process flows, obligations, and legal frameworks in place. While there are similarities there are also differences. It can be helpful for those interested in payments to have a general understanding of these characteristics and requirements.
This course provides level-set understanding and sets the stage for further learning. In this session, we explore each of the main payment networks diving into the main participants and defining their roles and responsibilities, mapping out the process flows to understand forward and return exchanges, and exploring at a high level the legal frameworks for each network including applicable rules, laws, and regulations.
