All businesses need data in order to operate. There is a lot of data with payments and all treasury-related services. This financial institution housed data is needed to help a business make appropriate decisions and reconcile its accounts payables (AP) and accounts receivables (AR). For example, incoming payments are often used to reconcile accounts receivables which may result in the shipping of products, discounting of payment terms, and updating of outstanding status. Failing to properly credit these funds could cause issues with any of these functions for the business. Financial institutions play a vital role with respect making much of this data available to the business through business online access portals, statement renderings, notifications, and so forth.
In this session, we explore what types of data are included under the umbrella of treasury services such as those contained in payments and other deposit-related reporting. We explain how these data elements are used by the business. We explore the role a financial institution plays in this process and the options it has available in providing such data.
