Depending on the complexity of your institution’s ACH program, ODFI risk management can be complicated. As an ODFI, you know the drill, not only are you responsible for following the Rules, but it’s also your responsibility to ensure that your Originators and Third-Party Senders are following the Rules. An ODFI must juggle providing desired products and services to its account holders, managing its responsibilities under the Rules, and mitigating the risks that it faces in the ACH Network. ODFIs are exposed to operational risk, credit risk, compliance risk, fraud risk, and more. In this session, we’ll discuss OCC Bulletin 2006-39, Uniform Commercial Code 4A, Nacha guidance, and other regulatory guidance relating to authentication, access, and cybersecurity risks. Join us for this informative session and take away valuable information to help protect your institution.
At the end of this session, learners will be able to:
• Recognize risks associated with being an ODFI
• Articulate strategies for mitigating risks to their financial institution as an ODFI
• Examine regulatory guidance and illustrate where that guidance may impact policies, procedures, and agreements
