Businesses have complex money management and money movement needs. We often throw out the term’s treasury management and cash management interchangeable. However, cash management is really a subset of the greater function of treasury management.

So, what is Treasury Management? Well, the answer to that question is what this session is all about. Specifically, what is Treasury Management to businesses and how does that translate to financial service offerings? In business, the Treasury is a function of finance that oversees the use of financial assets. When we relate this topic to financial service offerings, we delve into a wide array of banking products that include deposit accounts, supporting deposit services, and a wide range of money movement and management options.

In this session, we dive into this topic exploring the different facets of treasury and how they relate to the ways in which financial institution’s structure treasury service products and supporting client departments. While other related sessions focus on the specifics of treasury management products, this one instead aims to have students walk away with a better understanding of that treasury management is and why it matters.
