As an ODFI, you have responsibilities related to received Return Entries and Notification of Changes (NOCs) that are both compliance- and risk-related; your Originators have responsibilities too. In this session, we’ll talk about ACH Return Reason Codes, as well as NOC Codes and what some of them mean for your Originators, including unauthorized returns and stop payments and changes to an entry. We’ll discuss why Return rate monitoring should be part of your institution’s ACH risk management, and we’ll explore why return rate monitoring is important and how it differs between corporate and internal (consumer) origination.
Attendees will:
• Identify the purpose of Notifications of Change and reasons that Return Entries may be received back to the ODFI
• Examine the ODFI and Originator’s responsibilities for Return Entries and Notification of Changes
• Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of developing policies and procedures for handling incoming NOCs and Return Entries
Speaker:
• Patty Presta, AAP, NCP, Director, Education, NEACH
*Please note that the access information will be sent to you in a separate email upon receipt of payment. Access information and support are only provided during normal business hours.
