In June of 2022, the Federal Reserve, FDIC, and OCC issued final guidance on managing risks associated with third-party relationships, offering the agencies’ views on sound third-party risk management. As these relationships become complex, it is imperative that financial institutions manage the risks associated with their service providers and partners.

In this session geared toward payment function managers, NEACH will explore the manager’s role in payment-related vendor management. Your financial institution’s vendors should not be managed in a silo, but this is often the case in the real world. An effective vendor management program can help synchronize this siloed effect and inform managers of their roles related to this program. Departments throughout the institution likely maintain relationships with vendors and may own the formal vendor management process for these parties. Those who regularly interact with vendors’ products and services are in the best position to assess their performance and manage the relationship.

This session will help inform managers of their role in vendor management by defining the various payment-related vendors (including third parties), exploring vendor life cycle management, examining vendor performance management, detailing third-party party risk management, and exploring vendor opportunities and rewards.
